تداول نشطاء سُطورًا من وثائق “هيلاري كلينتون” المُسرّبة، قالت فيها بأن حلف الناتو قتل القذافي، حيث تقول بأن سبب قتله كان لإيقاف مشروعه بتشكيل “الولايات المتحدة الإفريقية”.
وأظهرت وثيقة أمريكية مسربة من بريد وزيرة الخارجية الأمريكية السابقة هيلاري كلينتون، أن “الرئيس الفرنسي نيكولا ساركوزي، أمر بالتدخل في ليبيا من أجل الحفاظ على نفوذ بلاده في المنطقة”، مشيرة إلى أن “من حرك فرنسا للتدخل في ليبيا من أجل الإطاحة بالقذافي، هو ما كان تملكه ليبيا من أطنان من الذهب، بالإضافة إلى المخزون الليبي الكبير من النفط”.
ونقلت الوثيقة، التي تحمل تاريخ الثاني من أبريل/نيسان 2011، عن مصادر مقربة من مستشاري سيف الإسلام القذافي، أن “معمر القذافي كان يحتكم على 143 طنا من الذهب، وكمية مماثلة من الفضة”.
وفي أواخر مارس/ آذار 2011، تم نقل هذه المخزونات الهائلة من الذهب والفضة من خزائن البنك المركزي الليبي في طرابلس إلى مدينة سبها، جنوب غرب ليبيا في إتجاه الحدود الليبية مع النيجر وتشاد.
وحسب تسريبات رسائل كلينتون، فإن “معمر القذافي كان يعتزم إستخدام هذه الكميات من الذهب والفضة في إنشاء عملة أفريقية تستند إلى الدينار الذهبي الليبي، على أن تكون هذه العملة هي الرئيسية في الدول الناطقة بالفرنسية”.
وتقدر قيمة هذه الكمية من الذهب والفضة بأكثر من 7 مليارات دولار، وقد إكتشف ضباط المخابرات الفرنسية هذه الخطة بعد فترة وجيزة من بدء الإنتفاضة الشعبية في ليبيا ضد القذافي، وكانت أحد العوامل المهمة التي دفعت ساركوزي للتدخل في ليبيا.
وسردت الوثيقة المسربة من بريد كلينتون، 5 أسباب دفعت فرنسا إبان عهد ساكوزي للتدخل في ليبيا من أجل الإطاحة بالقذافي: أولا، الرغبة في الحصول على حصة أكبر من إنتاج النفط الليبي، ثانيا، زيادة النفوذ الفرنسي في شمال أفريقيا، ثالثا، تحسين وضعه السياسي الداخلي وسمعته في فرنسا، رابعا، منح الجيش الفرنسي فرصة لإعادة تأكيد مكانته في العالم، خامسا، منع نفوذ القذافي في ما يعتبره الرئيس الفرنسي “أفريقيا الفرانكوفونية”.
