قال موقع “والاه” الإسرائيلي إنّ رئيس الوزراء القطري، محمد بن عبد الرحمن آل ثاني، أبلغ عائلات الأسرى الإسرائيليين خلال لقاء في الدوحة أن إغتيال نائب رئيس المكتب السياسي لحركة “حماس”، صالح العاروري، جعل من الصعب المضي قدماً في المفاوضات.. وأضاف”أنّه بات من الصعب التحدث مع حماس بسبب ما حدث في بيروت”.
وفي وقتٍ سابق، شدّدت حركة “حماس” على” أنّ إغتيال الإحتلال للقائد صالح العاروري وإخوانه من قادة الحركة وكوادرها هو عمل إرهابي مكتمل الأركان”، حيث إستشهد القائد الكبير العاروري، و6 من إخوانه، قبل أيام، من جرّاء عدوانٍ إسرائيلي في الضاحية الجنوبية لبيروت.
والشهداء الآخرون من قادة وكوادر الحركة وهم: القائد القسامي سمير فندي – أبو عامر، القائد القسامي عزام الأقرع – أبو عبد الله، الشهيد محمود زكي شاهين، الشهيد محمد بشاشة، الشهيد محمد الريس، والشهيد أحمد حمود.
والشهيد الشيخ العاروري هو قيادي سياسي وعسكري فلسطيني، تولّى منصب نائب رئيس المكتب السياسي لحركة المقاومة الإسلامية “حماس” عام 2017، وساهم في تأسيس جناحها العسكري، كتائب الشهيد عز الدين القسّام، في الضفة الغربية.
