أعلن تنظيم داعش مسؤوليته عن الهجمات التي أدت إلى مقتل عشرات من الجنود السوريين ومسلحين من قوات موالية لهم في البادية هذا الاسبوع، في إحدى أكثر الهجمات دموية هذا العام.
وقال بيان نشرته وكالة أعماق التابعة للتنظيم إن “مقاتلي الدولة الإسلامية هاجموا ثكنتين للجيش السوري وميليشيا الدفاع الوطني يوم الأربعاء بالأسلحة المتوسطة والخفيفة شمال مدينة السخنة في بادية حمص”.
وكان المرصد السوري لحقوق الإنسان قد أفاد في وقت سابق عن مقتل 34 عنصرا من قوات النظام ومقاتلين موالين جراء الهجوم الأربعاء.
وأورد المصدر الذي يتخذ في بريطانيا مقرا له ويعتمد على شبكة مصادر على الأرض أن الجهاديين شنوا “هجمات متزامنة” فجرا على نقاط تفتيش ومواقع عسكرية بين الرقة وحمص ودير الزور.
وأعلن التنظيم في حزيران/يونيو عام 2014 بعد سيطرته على مساحة تفوق 240 ألف كيلومتر مربع تمتد بين سوريا والعراق.
لكنه مُني بهزيمة أولى في العراق عام 2017 أمام القوات العراقية، ثم أعلنت قوات سوريا الديموقراطية، المدعومة أميركياً وعلى رأسها المقاتلون الأكراد، في 23 آذار/مارس 2019 هزيمته إثر معارك إستمرت بضعة أشهر.
وفي آب/أغسطس، قتل 33 جنديا سوريا عندما كمن مقاتلو تنظيم الدولة الإسلامية للحافلة التي تقلهم في بادية الميادين في ريف دير الزور الشرقي، في هجوم اعتبره المرصد حينها الأعنف منذ مطلع العام الحالي
وقبل أيام، قتل عشرة مسلحين موالين للجيش العربي السوري في هجوم في الرقة، المعقل السابق للجهاديين في سوريا.
وفي آب/أغسطس أيضا، هاجم جهاديون قافلة صهاريج لنقل النفط كانت تسير بحراسة الجيش في البادية، ما أسفر عن مقتل سبعة أشخاص بينهم مدنيان.
وفي الشهر نفسه، أعلن تنظيم الدولة الإسلامية عن وفاة زعيمه أبو الحسين الحسيني القرشي وتعيين أبو حفص الهاشمي القرشي خامس خليفة له.
