أفادت وسائل إعلام إيرانية أن الرئيس الإيراني مسعود بزشكيان سيلتقي نظيره الروسي فلاديمير بوتين في 17 كانون الثاني/يناير لتوقيع اتفاق تعاون.
وذكرت وكالة تسنيم للأنباء نقلا عن سفير إيران لدى موسكو كاظم جلالي أن “الرئيس سيزور روسيا في 17 كانون الثاني/يناير وسيتم توقيع اتفاق التعاون بين البلدين خلال الزيارة”.
وتخضع كل من روسيا وإيران لعقوبات دولية مقيدة للتجارة، لكنهما أقامتا علاقات متينة في مختلف القطاعات، بما في ذلك التعاون العسكري.
واتهمت أوكرانيا وحلفاؤها في العديد من العواصم الغربية طهران بتزويد موسكو بالأسلحة لاستخدامها في الحرب الروسية الأوكرانية.. ونفت إيران مرارا هذه الاتهامات.
وكان نائب رئيس الوزراء الروسي لشؤون النقل فيتالي سافيليف في طهران الاثنين والتقى بزشكيان.

ويعد هذا الخط جزءا من مشروع أكبر هو ممر النقل الدولي بين الشمال والجنوب، والذي يهدف إلى ربط الهند وإيران وروسيا وأذربيجان ودول أخرى.
وكان الرئيسان التقيا آخر مرة خلال قمة البريكس في قازان في تشرين الأول/أكتوبر.
ودعمت كل من إيران وروسيا الرئيس السوري المخلوع بشار الأسد خلال الحرب الأهلية في البلاد.
