ناشدت منظمة العفو الدولية السلطات التونسية الإفراج “فورا ودون قيد أو شرط” عن الناشطة في حقوق الإنسان سهام بن سدرين، وإسقاط جميع التهم الموجهة إليها.
وحثتها على إنهاء إساءة استخدام نظام العدالة الجنائية في تونس لاستهدافها.
ويوم 14 يناير/كانون الثاني الجاري، الذكرى الـ14 للثورة التونسية، أعلنت بن سدرين إضرابا مفتوحا عن الطعام، احتجاجا على احتجازها التعسفي منذ أغسطس/آب 2024 “لمجرد ممارستها لحقوقها الإنسانية” وفق المنظمة.
ويوم 26 يناير/كانون الثاني، نُقلت المدافعة عن حقوق الإنسان -البالغة من العمر 74 عاما- إلى المستشفى بسبب مضاعفات صحية.. وأشارت المنظمة إلى أنها تعاني من الضعف وانخفاض مستويات الأكسجين .
وشددت المنظمة على أنه في انتظار الإفراج عنها، يجب أن يمنح لسهام بن سدرين الحق في الوصول إلى متخصصين صحيين مؤهلين يقدمون لها الرعاية الصحية بما يتوافق مع أخلاقيات الطب، ومن ضمنها مبادئ السرية والاستقلالية.. كما يجب منحها الحق في الوصول إلى أسرتها ومحاميها.

وتقول العفو الدولية إنه يبدو أن محاكمة سهام بن سدرين “شكل من أشكال الانتقام من عمل هيئة الحقيقة والكرامة في كشف مزاعم انتهاكات حقوق الإنسان والفساد التي ارتكبتها السلطات التونسية في الماضي”.
