ندّدت الأمم المتحدة الجمعة باستخدام إسرائيل “أساليب الحرب” وباستعانتها “غير القانونية بالقوة القاتلة” في جنين في الضفة الغربية المحتلة.
وقال ثمين الخيطان المتحدث بإسم مفوضية الأمم المتحدة السامية لحقوق الإنسان في جنيف، إنّ “العمليات الإسرائيلية القاتلة في الأيام الأخيرة، تثير مخاوف جدية بشأن الاستخدام غير الضروري أو غير المتناسب للقوة”.
وفي مطلع الأسبوع، بدأ الجيش الإسرائيلي عملية واسعة النطاق في مخيم جنين للاجئين في الضفة الغربية المحتلة أطلق عليها اسم “السور الحديدية”.
وقال رئيس الوزراء بنيامين نتانياهو إنّ هدف العملية التي تُستخدم فيها جرافات وطائرات ومركبات عسكرية مدرّعة، “استئصال الإرهاب”.
وفي السياق، أوضح الخيطان أنّ العمليات الإسرائيلية “تثير مخاوف جدية بشأن اللجوء غير الضروري أو غير المتناسب للقوة، خصوصا أساليب ووسائل تمّ تطويرها من أجل الحرب، في انتهاك للقانون الدولي لحقوق الإنسان وللقواعد والمعايير المطبّقة في عمليات حفظ النظام”.
وأكدت مفوضية الأمم المتحدة السامية لحقوق الإنسان، استشهاد 12 فلسطينيا على الأقل وإصابة 40 بجروح في العمليات التي تنفّذها القوات الإسرائيلية، مشيرة إلى أنّ “معظمهم لم يكونوا مسلّحين على ما يبدو”.
وأفاد الهلال الأحمر الفلسطيني بأنّ من بين الجرحى، طبيب وممرّضتان، الأمر الذي أكدته الأمم المتحدة، داعية إلى إجراء تحقيق مستقل لمحاسبة المسؤولين.
وقال الخيطان “من خلال فشلها المستمر على مرّ السنوات، في محاسبة أفراد قواتها الأمنية المسؤولين عن جرائم القتل غير القانونية، فإنّ إسرائيل لا تنتهك التزاماتها بموجب القانون الدولي فحسب، بل قد تشجع أيضا على تكرار ارتكاب مثل هذه الجرائم”.
