وأشار الكاتب إلى أن المقاومة ليست مشروعا “عقيما”، بل “جزء أساسي من هوية من ينتسب إليها”، ولهذا السبب بالتحديد كان السنوار يرغب أن لا يموت ميتة طبيعية بل بقذيفة دبابة على أرض المعركة، معتقدا أن ذلك سيقوّي المقاومة.
وحذر الكاتب الإسرائيليين من أن ينشغلوا بالاحتفال وتوزيع الحلوى عن الواقع، وخاطبهم متسائلا: “أتذكرون أبرز مؤسسي حماس أحمد ياسين، أو القيادي الفلسطيني خليل الوزير (أبو جهاد)؟ ماذا عن الأمين العام السابق لحزب الله عباس الموسوي أو مؤسس حركة الجهاد الإسلامي فتحي الشقاقي؟ لقد كانوا بمنزلة وحوش لإسرائيل في السابق، واستطاعت اغتيالهم كلهم، ولكن المقاومة استمرت”.
وأضاف “بقدر براعة الإسرائيليين في الثأر لدماء قتلاهم، إلا أنهم لم ينجحوا قط في وضع نهاية حقيقية للمقاومة طوال العقود الماضية، فما الذي يجعلهم يظنون أن قتلهم السنوار سيؤدي إلى نتيجة مختلفة هذه المرة؟”.
