قال مصدران قضائيان لرويترز اليوم الأربعاء إن محافظ مصرف لبنان السابق رياض سلامة الذي ألقي القبض عليه أمس الثلاثاء بتهمة ارتكاب جرائم مالية سيظل رهن الاحتجاز حتى موعد جلسة استماع من المرجح أن تنعقد الأسبوع المقبل.
وأضاف المصدران أنه بعد استجوابه يمكن للقاضي الذي يرأس الجلسة أن يقرر ما إذا كان سيبقيه قيد الاحتجاز أم لا، وأضافا أنه لم يتم اتخاذ قرار بعد بشأن هذا الأمر.
وكان سلامة (73 عاما) محافظا لمصرف لبنان لمدة 30 عاما لكن سنواته الأخيرة في المنصب شابتها اتهامات بارتكاب جرائم مالية بما في ذلك الإثراء غير المشروع من خلال الأموال العامة، ووجهت إليه السلطات في لبنان وعدة دول غربية هذه الاتهامات.
واتُهم رئيس البنك المركزي السابق بجمع أكثر من 110 ملايين دولار من خلال جرائم مالية تتعلق بشركة أوبتيموم إنفست، وهي شركة لبنانية تقدم خدمات الوساطة في الدخل.
