قال الرئيس الأمريكي جو بايدن اليوم الجمعة إن الولايات المتحدة ستلغي وضع “العلاقات التجارية الطبيعية الدائمة” مع روسيا لمعاقبة موسكو على غزو أوكرانيا.
وسوف يمهد هذا التغيير، الذي قال بايدن إنه إتخذ بالتنسيق مع حلفاء الولايات المتحدة، الطريق أمام الولايات المتحدة لفرض رسوم على قطاع عريض من السلع الروسية ويزيد الضغط على إقتصاد يقف على حافة ركود شديد.
وحذر بايدن في كلمة الجمعة في البيت الأبيض من أن روسيا “ستدفع ثمنا باهظا أذا إستخدمت أسلحة كيميائية” في اوكرانيا.
ويبدي الغربيون قلقهم من إحتمال إستخدام موسكو أسلحة كيميائية في اوكرانيا، في حين تتهم موسكو واشنطن وكييف بإقامة مختبرات في اوكرانيا تهدف إلى إنتاج أسلحة بيولوجية، الأمر الذي نفته العاصمتان.. ويعقد مجلس الامن الدولي اجتماعا في هذا الشأن الجمعة في الساعة 16,00 ت غ.
من جهته أقر مجلس الشيوخ الأمريكي، الجمعة، الميزانية الجديدة للحكومة الفيدرالية، ومن ضمنها تخصيص تمويل قدره 13.6 مليار دولار للأزمة الأوكرانية، ومساعدة كييف على التصدي للهجوم الروسي.
ووفق القرار، ستخصص الأموال لتزويد كييف بأسلحة وذخيرة، على أن يذهب نصف المبلغ المرصود للجيش الأمريكي من أجل تمويل نشر قوات بالمنطقة، وفق صحيفة “نيويورك تايمز” الأمريكية.
وسيسمح التمويل الأمريكي أيضا لكييف بحماية الشبكة الكهربائية في البلاد والتصدي للهجمات السيبرانية والاستحواذ على أسلحة دفاعية.
وتتضمن أيضا حزمة الدعم المالي مبلغ 2.6 مليار دولار للمساعدات الإنسانية، وأكثر من مليار دولار لدعم اللاجئين الأوكرانيين الفارين من بلدهم بسبب الحرب.
من جهته، قال زعيم الأغلبية الديمقراطية في مجلس الشيوخ السناتور تشاك شومر، إن الحزمة “ستؤمن أغذية وأدوية وملاجئ ودعما لأكثر من مليوني لاجئ وموارد للاقتصاد الأوكراني المدمر”.
وأضاف أن التمويل “سيتيح أيضا نقل أسلحة مثل جافلين وستينغر وسيطمئن حلف شمال الأطلسي (الناتو) ويعززه”، بحسب الصحيفة الأمريكية ذاتها.
وزودت واشنطن الجيش الأوكراني بقاذفات صواريخ “جافلين” المضادة للدروع وقاذفات صواريخ “ستينغر” المضادة للطائرات.
وفي 24 فبراير/ شباط الماضي، أطلقت روسيا عملية عسكرية في أوكرانيا، تبعتها ردود فعل دولية غاضبة وفرض عقوبات إقتصادية ومالية “مشددة” على موسكو.
