بعد إعتراضات برلمانية وخلافات فقهية، قرّرت الكويت، الثلاثاء، لأول مرة فتح باب التسجيل للمواطنات الكويتيات للالتحاق بالجيش.
وأصدر نائب رئيس مجلس الوزراء ووزير الدفاع الكويتي الشيخ حمد جابر العلي الصباح قرارا وزاريا بفتح باب التسجيل للمواطنات الكويتيات للالتحاق بشرف الخدمة العسكرية كضباط إختصاص وضباط صف وأفراد وفقا لأحكام القانون رقم 32 لسنة 1967 في شأن الجيش ولوائحه التنفيذية على أن يقتصر في المرحلة الحالية على مجال الخدمات الطبية والخدمات العسكرية المساندة.
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء الكويتية (كونا) عن وزير الدفاع الكويتي إن المرأة الكويتية أثبتت موقفها في عدة مجالات وعليه تمت إعطاء الموافقة على دخول المواطنات الكويتيات السلك العسكري في الجيش الكويتي “جنبا إلى جنب مع أخيها الرجل”.
وأضاف أن قراره الصادر اليوم “يأتي إنطلاقا من دور ومسؤولية الجيش الكويتي في حماية البلاد والحفاظ على أمنه واستقراره من أي خطر خارجي إضافة إلى تقديم الدعم والمساندة للجهات الحكومية لمواجهة أي مستجدات داخلية وبغية تمكين المواطنات الكويتيات من الالتحاق بشرف الخدمة العسكرية”.
وأكد الشيخ حمد جابر العلي ثقته التامة بقدرة وإمكانية وإستعداد المرأة الكويتية لتحمل عناء ومشقة العمل في الجيش ، وأنها ستنجح في خوض هذه التجربة لأنها تتطلع بشغف إلى خدمة وحماية وطنها والذود عن مصالحه والحفاظ على أمنه واستقراره”.
ويقتصر التجنيد في الجيش الكويتي للمواطنين الرجال، حيث أقر مجلس الأمة الكويتي التجنيد الإلزامي في عام 2018 على كل كويتي من الذكور أتم الـ18 من عمره، متضمنا خدمة عامة، وخدمة إحتياطية.
