وفي بيان مشترك، وجهت المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين ومكتب الأمم المتحدة لتنسيق الشؤون الإنسانية، نداء لجمع 4.1 مليارات دولار لتلبية احتياجات ملايين السودانيين داخل البلاد ومن لجأوا إلى دول مجاورة.
وأوضح البيان أن “نصف سكان السودان (نحو 25 مليون شخص) يحتاجون إلى دعم وحماية”، مشيرا أن “الأموال المطلوبة ستخصص لمساعدة ملايين المدنيين في السودان وغيرهم ممن فروا إلى الخارج”.
وإضافة إلى تلبية احتياجات المدنيين داخل السودان، تسعى الأمم المتحدة من خلال الأموال التي ستجمعها إلى “تغطية احتياجات أكثر من 1.5 مليون شخص فروا إلى دول مجاورة مثل جمهورية إفريقيا الوسطى وتشاد ومصر وإثيوبيا وجنوب السودان”، وفق البيان.
وفي البيان، قال منسق المساعدات الإنسانية بالأمم المتحدة مارتن غريفيث إن “عشرة أشهر من الصراع سلبت شعب السودان كل شيء تقريبا، بما في ذلك منازلهم وسلامتهم وسبل عيشهم”.
وأضاف أن “سخاء المانحين يساعدنا على توفير الغذاء والتغذية والمأوى والمياه النظيفة والتعليم للأطفال، ومحاربة العنف القائم على النوع الإجتماعي ورعاية الناجين”.
ومنذ منتصف أبريل/ نيسان 2023 يخوض الجيش السوداني و”قوات الدعم السريع” حربا خلّفت أكثر من 13 ألف قتيل وما يزيد على 7 ملايين نازح ولاجئ، وفقا للأمم المتحدة.
